Growing Region

New Zealand lies in the heart of the South Pacific.

New Zealand is famous internationally for its diverse and beautiful landscape from vast mountain ranges, steaming volcanoes, hot thermal pools, sweeping golden coastlines and lush rainforests and native bush.

The country is comparable in size to Great Britain, Colorado or Japan but with a population of only 3.8 million - it is one of the world's least crowded countries.

This leaves plenty of fertile land for growing the world's best produce, and with mild temperatures, high rainfall, and lots of sunshine it's an ideal climate for apples and pears.

Grown in Motueka
Golden Bay Fruit apples and pears are grown in orchards sprinkled around Motueka. Motueka is located 50 minutes from Nelson.

The Nelson Region
is known for its year-round sunshine, golden sands and beaches, 3 famous national parks nearby, vineyards and microbreweries, seafood, orchards and a large creative community of working artists.

Nelson has a thriving port which exports many products including timber, seafood and horticultural produce all over the world. Around 339000 tonnes of horticultural produce leaves Port Nelson each year bound for offshore markets.

The Benefits of NZ Grown
New Zealand is known for its clean, green, environment.

New Zealand's geographical isolation has afforded protection from many pests and diseases prevalent overseas.

Our Southern Hemisphere seasons means produce from New Zealand can arrive in Europe during winter, ensuring fresh fruit throughout the year for customers.

Orchards and horticulturalists here adhere to industry-standard spray programmes that are constantly monitored for effectiveness and measurement of residue levels.
